Production

Iron-carbon casting alloys are our profession: Both GJL according to EN 1561, GJS according to EN 1563 as well as GJS-400-18-LT, and GJV or special alloys for highly heat-resistant applications or for extremely smooth surfaces for enamelling or coating.
The materials are melted in our modern, processor-controlled MF melting plant according to your specifications, preconditioned, magnesium-treated if required and cast in induction-heated casting furnaces under inert gas. This process ensures the necessary analysis and temperature consistency throughout the entire production cycle.
Casting takes place on boxless automatic moulding machines with vertical mould division - the DISA system. We have been working with this technology for over 30 years. Years in which we have acquired extensive knowledge and skills.  And a sure instinct. For the benefit of our customers.
For raw castings, grinding and shot blasting are the end of the production chain. All other parts are further processed on our five-axis CNC machines and receive a surface finish. In many cases we also assemble finished units.
DEVELOPMENT
Upon request, our team of foundry technologists will assist you in the planning of your new project from the moment of your enquiry. Design modifications are the first priority: For a safe and cost-effective production, for an optimal pattern design and - if necessary - for the adaptation to the most suitable material.
Our technologist will continue to look after your product: through model creation, internal sampling and the initial sample until it is ready for series production.
QUALITY
Ensuring the long-term satisfaction of our customers is the focus of our work. We create the basis for this through integrated quality assurance in all production processes. All processes at Ortrander are accompanied by our QM system certified according to IATF 16949.
